Voter turnout

Fivethirtyeight.com has project, after all the votes are finally counted, that the total vote number will be in the range of 125-130 million. With a turnout of around 64%, which would be the highest in 100 years.

White House press secretary

Ben Smith from Politico writes that Robert Gibbs, a senior adviser for Obama during his campaign, will be announced as his new White House press secretary.

He was on the morning shows quite a bit, usually on with Nicole Wallace from the McCain campaign. Always thought he was the best of all the spokespeople during the election. He had a great Exchange with Hannity after the 1st debate, I believe. Put him in his place. :)

Obama's Cabinet

Lots of rumors that Rahm Emanuel name is being tossed quite a bit to be Obama's White House Chief of Staff. No doubt that this pick is going to draw some critism from the Republicans, though I'd imagine anyone would be.

Emanual has a bit of a pitbull type reputation and is considered, by Republicans, as being too partisan.

*Update*

No longer a rumor, it's been confirmed that Emanuel will be the new Chief of Staff for President Obama. Btw, I like the sound of that..President Obama. :)

President Barack Obama!!

Election predictions.

Finally. It's Election day! Here is my prediction on how things will turn out.

Obama: 333

McCain: 205

Watch for Georgia. Already 2 million people have voted BEFORE today. In comparison 4 million people voted in 2004 in Georgia. Obama stands a chance of a very narrow victory there. If he does win, it's going to be a quick evening on the returns..

House rejects Bailout Plan; Dow drops record 777 points

Unbelievable. That's all I have to say about today. The House votes against the Bailout Plan and the Dow drops 777 points. Why did this happen, let me list the reasons why:

- Obama's fault

- Democrats couldn't get the votes

- Pelosi hurt republicans feelings

- Obama's fault

- Screw Wall Street

- Did I mention it was Obama's fault?

I can't stand the Republicans anymore. There were enough votes on the Republican side, but 15 changed their mind. Which is fine, but what caused them to change their mind? If they just have a change of heart? Oh no...they were pissed about Pelosi's speech. That's right. If Pelosi never said anything, they would've voted for the same bill they voted against...

Right. It's not about Politics and it's all the Democrats fault.

Here's the vote breakdown:

Democrats: 140 Yes, 95 No
Republicans: 65 Yes, 133 No

1st Debate: Draw

The first presidential debate just ended and considering it was McCain's ground, I thought that Obama drew it. At the very least, he did not hurt himself.

Their styles were completely different with McCain being more direct and Obama giving these philosophical type answers, which I personally prefer, but which would play to undecided voters?

I'll post more later on specific points I thought were best for both...
